ABOUT JULIAN CATFORD
Julian has performed in Mallorca, Spain, Scotland, Tahiti, and Mexico, and appeared as a guest artist on television. He has accompanied Rosemary Clooney and Cab Calloway.Accompanied such notables as The Mills Brothers, Ed Ames, Little Anthony, Kenny Garrett, Robert Merrill, Patrice Muncell of the New York Metropolitan Opera, Cab Calloway and Rosemary Clooney.
Recorded with Julian Catford Trio on Northwest Passage CD, and his own CD Sonoroso (2003), and as guest artist on Skye Cantrell's CD, Blame It On My Youth (2003), jazz vocalist Lincoln Briney's CD, Five (1996), recorded with saxophone great Freddy Greenwell (1998), and on vocalist Janis Mann's CD, A Little Moonlight (1997), and as accompanist on Isaac Azose's CD Ladino Reflections (2010), and on Linda Capaluto's Galanica - Ladino Romanzas .

Studied classical guitar with Carlos Barbosa-Lima and Guillermo Fierens (a student of Segovia). Recently attended master class/workshop with guitarist and composer Maximo DIego Pujol on Argentine Tango and Milonga, and prior to that with Argentinean guitarist VIctor Villadandgos as part of the Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Festival, and studied and performed with Brazilian musicians Arnaldinho do Cavaco, and Hamilton De Holanda.
He has performed with Seattle musicians Floyd Standifer, Luis Peralta, Fred Radke, Marco DeCarvalho, and Jeff Busch; vocalist Visilli and percussionist Tor Deitrichson of Children of the Revolution; Freddy Greenwell, and Pearl Django bassist Rick Leppanen.
Seattle area appearances with Dos Guitarras include Bumbershoot; Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts; Ethnic Heritage Festival and Fremont Fair; Sound on Sound with the Julian Catford Jazz Trio; as well as ArtStorm, the Bellevue Jazz Festival, and Seattle and Tacoma Arts Commission concerts.
Appearances include EXPO 86; cruise ships in Alaska, Tahiti and Mexico; big bands and orchestras at the Paramount, the Moore and Group Theaters; and the Ann Arbor Jazz Festival.
Seattle area performance venues include Columbia Tower Club, Frye Art Museum, Olympic Four Seasons Hotel, Seattle Tennis Club, Chateau St. Michelle Winery, Hyatt Regency, Woodmark Hotel, and Jazz Alley, Willows Lodge, the Ruins, Museum of Flight, Seattle Aquarium, Mayflower Park Hotel, Tiffany & Co., Rainier Club, Kiana Lodge, Broadmoor, Newcastle Golf Club, and many more.
Dos Guitarras was selected for the 2007-2008 King County Touring Artist Roster; "Some of King County's most talented performing artists."
