Latin-Jazz Guitar
Julian’s recording, Sonoroso, showcases the enchanting sounds of South American and Spanish guitar, blended with jazz improvisation and the rhythms of choro, bossa nova, valse, flamenco, jazz, and tango. A sonorous mix of traditional and original compositions, the CD features solo guitar and combinations with Latin percussion and guest musicians.

About the Music
Flamenco Fusion Intro was a late night improvisation. Flamenco Fusion was written back in the ’80’s. 6/4 Blues—I like to do blues in interesting styles. Lembra de Mim means ‘remember me’ in Portuguese. Valse Venezolano is the Venezuelan Waltz. Valse Variations is an improvisation on the Valse. Chalita was originally a tango from the ’20’s, I believe. Fazendo Onda means ‘making waves’ in Portuguese. Tango Azul, ‘blue tango’ is really two blues progressions in the keys of G minor and F. Demiversary is half an anniversary. Prelude Improvisation is an improvised introduction to Manha de Carnaval. Manha de Carnaval, the classic by Luis Bonfa, is also known as Black Orpheus. Para Mi Esposa, was written for my wonderful wife. Sonoroso—the title says it all. Flamenco Fusion Outro—more late night improvisation.
